A Safe Haven before the Storm!

Report Submitted by Joe Hurston - Sept. 19, 2005, 7:36am (CST) 20 miles East of Pensacola, FL

The miles just clicked away as we pushed the Air Mobile Team toward Biloxi. Our medical team is not scheduled to arrive in Biloxi before early Monday afternoon. Our team needed a place to stay Sunday evening outside of Biloxi.

Barbara went through the big Campground book and began calling. No space until next year was the message over and over again. Cindy was driving, I was taking a snooze when we pulled into the rest stop. It stood out because there were a couple of old Vintage Blue Angel Jets in front. Cindy told me that we had just passed a KOA Campground. I quickly phoned and yes, they had space for us! I never cease to marvel at how our Lord provides for us!!

Meanwhile Tropical Storm Rita is working through the Bahamas and headed toward the Florida Keys. She'll likely become a level one storm. Once in the Gulf, it appears that Rita will hold a westerly coarse toward Mexico or Southern Texas. The thing that we are all watching is the speed and intensity of these storms. They really develop quickly and can wobble all over the place. We are praying!!

Again, we hope to arrive and begin working in Biloxi this evening. We'll be in touch. God Bless You and thanks again for standing with us.
